See how they compare: Article and Forum Connect & XPress
Integrating two platforms can be a challenge. You have to decide what needs connected, the best way to connect them, the various advantages and disadvantages, scalability, maintenance, and more. It's challenging and not always best to aim for a "one-size-fits-all" approach, which is why we have been working on another solution for integrating WordPress and XenForo: Article and Forum Connect.
XPress, another integration between the platforms, is a front-end solution that gives you a matching WordPress theme from XenForo and loads the whole of XenForo in to perform the integration which may cause performance concerns for certain communities, particularly larger ones. It also requires the forum and blog to be on the same server, a configuration not all communities have.
Article and Forum Connect is a back-end solution and is more efficient because it uses the XenForo API. Article and Forum Connect has greater flexibility in terms of how the integration can be configured and how user authentication is performed. It also supports the sites being on different servers, and depending on method even different domains entirely.
