Selling Ad Space

[AD] Monetize Pro gives you the ability to sell and ad space on your forum. You can create packages, manage zones, offer coupons, and track statistics for you ad spaces. To Get started follow these simple instructions below:

1. Your first step is to create a new user group (We suggest naming this group "Advertisers") (Note: You will need to enter the user group ID in step 3. To find the ID for your user group, look in the address bar. The number follow "advertiser" is your user ID. Example: admin.php?user-groups/advertiser.5/edit, where 5 is your advertiser ID.)
2. Set the permissions for the user group you've just created. At the bottom, allow "Can purchase advertisements packages."
3. Next you will need to navigate to your XenForo Options, and select [AD] Monetize: Become Advertiser. Check "Enable Feature," and set the Advertiser Group ID to match the user group you created for your advertisers.
4. If you have not installed [BD] Paygates, you must do so to collect payment for purchased ad space.

Advertiser Applications

Before users can start purchasing ad space from your forum, they must apply to be an advertiser. Users may find the Become Advertiser link in the footer of the page. They will be prompted to provide a reason for wanting to become an advertiser. Once they've applied, their application will appear under Pending Advertiser Applications in the Ad Manager, and can either be approved or rejected.

Packages

[AD] Monetize Pro has made it easy to offer advertising options to users using Packages. A package consists of a Type, Zone, and Price To create a package, navigate to the packages tab and click "Create New Package". (Note: package must be marked as “active” to appear as an option to purchase for the user.)

Type

Advertisements may be "click based," or "length based." When set to click based, users will pay per every click the ad receives. If your ad is set to length based, users will pay for a specific block of time. Time can be set by days, weeks, months, or years. You may also choose whether to allow users to set the length for advertisement run time, and to request a start date for their ads.

Zone

When creating a package, you must specify what zone it will appear in. You may only specify one zone per package.

Pricing

Ad Monetize supports 5 different currencies (USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, and GBP.) Currency can be set per individual packages, or can be globally set. To set a default, navigate to [AD] Monetize: General Options in your options panel.

Awaiting Approval

Once a package has been purchased by a user, it will appear in Awaiting Approval. You can navigate to this tab to review the ad that is being requested. You must approve ads here before they appear live on your forum.

Pause

Users have the ability to pause their ads, and resume them at a later date. Paused ads will not appear, and therefore no clicks will be deducted during a paused period. (Note: If a length based ad is paused, the time of their ad will continue to run during that period, but their ad will not display.)

Coupons

With [AD] Monetize Pro, you now have the ability to create coupons for your ad space. To create a coupon, navigate to Coupons under the Packages tab. You must set a name to identify your coupon. The Promo Code that you set will be the promotional code the user enters to receive their discount. The discount can be set to either percentage or Set Amount. When set to percentage, if no decimal is entered, it will default to the end of the numeric value. If Discount Type is set to Set Amount, the currency will be inherited from the package it is applied to. You may choose to set a minimum transaction account that the coupon may be used for. You can also set the start and expiration date for your coupon. Tracks number for uses for each coupon.
