Sub-Accounts

Installing [TH] Sub-Accounts

  1. Your first step is to download the add-on from your customer area. You will be asked to provide some information before downloading. Once you download, save the .zip file somewhere you are familiar with.
  2. Next, you will want to extract the files. After that is done you will need to upload the contents inside the upload folder into your root Xenforo directory. You will then need to install the .xml file.
  3. Click Choose File and select the .xml file that you found in the .zip folder.
  4. Congratulations! You have now added [TH] Sub-Accounts.

Getting Started with [TH] Sub-Accounts

To begin setting up Sub-Accounts, please navigate to your Administrative Panel - > Options → [TH] Sub-Accounts. There you will see many options that you as an administrator can set certain restrictions, enables, and much more on this add-on.

Managing Sub-Accounts Options
  • Always send confirmation requests by email - Selecting this option will send all conversation requests by email instead of using conversations. Default behavior is to attempt to send by conversation first.
  • Usergroups - The above user groups will be given to all sub accounts. After changing this option, it is recommended to rebuild user caches.
  • Sub-account inherits user groups from parent - Selecting this option will force the sub-accounts to inherit all of the parent's user groups and related permissions. Administrator or moderator statuses and related permissions will not be inherited. After setting this option, it is recommended to rebuild user caches.
  • Exclude Usergroups - The above user groups will never be inherited by children. After changing this option, it is recommended to rebuild user caches.
  • Sub-Accounts inherits user group styling - After setting this option, it is recommended to rebuild user caches.
  • Hide Sub-Accounts - If ticked sub accounts will not appear as members, only as aliases of the parents.
  • Only show sub-account fields - Exclude personal, contact and preference fields from sub-accounts.
  • Show sub-accounts sidebar block on profile - When ticked all of a member's sub-accounts will be displayed in a sub-accounts sidebar block on their profile page.
  • Show sub-accounts tab on profile - When ticked all of a member's sub-accounts will be displayed in a sub-accounts section on their profile page.
  • Show parent account on profile - When ticked, a link to a sub-account's parent will appear on their profile in the sidebar.
  • Viewing Users Sub-Accounts

    To view other users sub-accounts, navigate to your Administrative Panel → Users → List All Users → Click on a User. You should be in the edit user menu, there you will see Sub-Accounts, Parent Account, Parent State.

    Sub-Accounts Field - Will allow you to select users which are affiliated with that users account.

    Parent Account Field - Will allow you to do the same as the Sub-Accounts field but will be main account affiliation.

    Parent State - Will allow you to select if the account is active, awaiting confirmation, awaiting confirmation (from edit), and if the account is disabled.
