Search Topics

Users can filter threads by Topic, allowing them to quickly find information in the community.

Adding a Main Thread Topic

When Thread Topics is enabled, the Thread Topic selected first when creating a new thread is considered a main Thread Topic. The main Thread Topic is the forum the thread will live in and inherit permissions from if it is associated with a forum.

Adding Additional Thread Topics

When Thread Topics is enabled, additional Thread Topics can be selected after a user has created a main Thread Topic. The thread will still appear in the additional Thread Topics, but all permissions are set through the main Thread Topic.

To exclude a Thread Topic from appearing as an option for additional Thread Topics, make sure ‘Can be selected as additional topic’ is unchecked within your Thread Topic’s settings by going to ACP > Topics > Thread topics > Clicking on the Thread Topic to be edited.
