Setting up User Upgrades

Getting Started with [TH] User Upgrades

To begin setting up Sub-Accounts, please navigate to your Administrative Panel - > Options → [TH] User Upgrades. There you will see many options that you as an administrator can set certain restrictions, enables, and much more on this add-on. Such options are included in this menu:

  • Activate paid registration - Tick this box if you wish to activate paid registrations. This will require new users to pay for a subscription before their account becomes active.
  • Override email confirmation for paid registrations - If selected, new accounts will skip email confirmation if they pay for an upgrade on your site.
  • Allow upgrades by unconfirmed users - Enabling this option allows unconfirmed users to purchase upgrades.
  • Disable purchase pop-up - Enabling this option will uses full page purchases instead.
  • Show full license agreement on confirmation screen - Selecting this option will show the full license agreement on the confirmation screen, rather than requiring the user to click a link and open it in a new window/overlay.
  • Skip confirmation if no user agreement - Enabling this option removes the confirmation dialog before the user is redirected to PayPal if there is no agreement attached to a user upgrade.
  • Send Purchase Confirmation Email - Ticking this will send all users a confirmation email when they successfully upgrade their account
  • Announce Upgrades in Forum - If a forum is selected here, a thread will be posted whenever a user is upgraded.
  • Paypal Shipping Address Defaults

  • Prompt and require shipping address
  • Show Upgrades Tab - Enabling this option will move user upgrades from the Accounts section to a dedicated Upgrades tab.
  • Default Notification Day - If set this is the number of days before a user upgrade is due to expire that a user will be alerted, this will be overridden if set in specific user upgrades.
  • Terminology - Terminology to use for user upgrades.
  • Custom Terminology (Singular) - eg, Product
  • Custom Terminology (Plural) - eg, Products
  • Detailed Transaction Log Fields - Enter each field name on a new line. Common field names are: title, transaction_type, message, log_date and username. You can also include the name of any field from the PayPal Details on a transaction log.
  • Allow automatic calculation of sales tax/VAT - With this option enabled, you will be able to set your sales tax/VAT rates in PayPal.
  • Setting up [TH] User Upgrades

    [TH] User Upgrades includes many options as shown above, but also you are able to set different categories, view active user upgrades, manually assign users, and much more. To view such please navigate to your Administrative Panel - > Users - > User Upgrades.

  • List User Upgrades - List all user upgrades that you have created.
  • List Active User Upgrades - List all active user upgrades that you have created or have been bought by users.
  • User Upgrade Categories - Create different categories of user upgrades (ie: VIP, Developers, etc).
  • List Expired User Upgrades - List all expired upgrades by your users.
  • Search User Upgrades - Search users or usergroups to see who has bought them, expired, and much more.
  • Transaction Log - Shows transactions that have been made by your users (Date, time, etc)
  • Detailed Transaction Log - Shows transactions but in more detail.
  • Manually Upgrade User - Upgrade a user manually easy, search the user, select the upgrade, and set a due date.
  • PayPal IPN Rules - Rules for the payment_gateway.php PayPal Instant Payment Notification processor.
