User management may not be available for all remote platform types. Please refer to the individual documentation of the platform type for more information on whether this functionality is supported.
You can access the linked users page from the platform manager by selecting Users → Linked users for the respective platform.
The linked users page shows you which XenForo accounts are currently linked to which remote accounts (if any). You can quick-filter the list via the upper right hand side filter input to find data for a specific user without having to traverse the entire list.
Import remote accounts
The Import remote accounts page action will have XLink automatically link existing XenForo accounts to their remote account counterparts (by email) and generate new XenForo accounts for all remote accounts that do not currently have a XenForo account.
Generate remote accounts
You may also use the “Generate remote accounts” page action to have XLink automatically link existing remote accounts to their XenForo counterparts (by email) and generate new remote accounts for all XenForo accounts that do not currently have a remote account.
Manually Link an Account
You can manually link two existing accounts by choosing Link user in the Linked users page and entering the user’s XenForo Username and the user’s Remote Platform Name. Two existing accounts can also be linked by clicking the + symbol in the Linked users page next to the user you would like to link and then enter the user’s Remote Platform Name.
Deleting an Account Link
To delete an account link, in the Linked users page click the delete symbol next to the user you would like to delete the link from.
User promotions may not be available for all remote platform types. Please refer to the individual documentation of the platform type for more information on whether this functionality is supported.
Like XenForo user group promotions, user promotions allow you to define a set of criteria, under which a user is promoted to a specified role/user group on the remote platform.
As most platforms only support having one group per user, XLink only applies the first matching promotion to each user, regardless of whether subsequent promotions would also match or not. The promotion with the highest priority that matches all criteria is the only one that will be applied.
You can access user promotions by selecting Users → User promotions for the respective platform. Then choose Add promotion to add a promotion.
To add a user promotion, navigate to ACP → XLink → Platforms → Choose Users next to the remote platform → User promotions → Choose Add promotion.
Title Name the promotion.
Priority Set the priority for the promotion to be applied from highest to lowest where the first matched promotion will be the only promotion applied.
Promotion is active If checked, the promotion is enabled.
Remote group This is the group on the remote platform that is applied to the user.
Use the “Apply this promotion while…”, “User field criteria”, and “remote platform criteria” to set various criteria for the user promotion.
Upon saving, XLink will automatically synchronize all existing user groups to all recently active linked remote accounts.
The synchronization is always performed from XenForo to the remote platform. Any manual changes to user groups on the remote system are lost when an automated synchronization takes place, as XLink regards the XenForo installation as the source of truth.
Like XenForo User group promotions, XLink user promotions are only applied to recently active users. If a user hasn’t been logged in within the last 2 hours, the automated run after saving will not affect them. User promotions are run through a cron job once per hour, so anyone who logs in should be promoted or demoted accordingly within an hour after their next login.
